Disciple of Pai Lum | Owner & Chief Instructor, White Tiger Karate
Sensei Sharyl Geisert is the Owner and Chief Instructor of White Tiger Karate, the Northeast Pai Lum Headquarters and the region’s only SKILLZ Certified Child Development Center. A dedicated Disciple of Pai Lum, she trained under Grandmaster Clarence Cooper Jr. and has devoted her life to martial arts and child development. At White Tiger Karate, she leads programs in Pai Lum Kung Fu, Karate, Parkour, and SKILLZ®—a research-based child development system known for its transformative impact on young students.
With more than four decades of experience in child education, Sensei Sharyl brings passion, expertise, and compassion to every class she teaches. Her professional background includes service as a recreation therapist, teacher, coach, firefighter/EMT, and youth care specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Health and a Master of Science in Recreation and Leisure with a specialization in Therapeutic Recreation. Her areas of expertise include autism, ADHD, ADD, behavioral challenges, anger management, and adaptive physical education.
Sensei Sharyl collaborates with respected medical and behavioral health organizations—including Health First Family Care Center, Genesis Behavioral Health, and Spaulding Youth Center—to integrate current research and clinical best practices into her teaching. She credits Grandmaster Clarence Cooper Jr.’s compassionate leadership and deep knowledge of Pai Lum as the foundation of her own philosophy and approach.
Beginning her martial arts journey in the early 1980s, Sensei Sharyl has studied Kung Fu, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Kempo, Kenpo, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and Taekwondo, earning ranks across multiple disciplines. Today, her primary focus remains Pai Lum Kung Fu, Karate, and the innovative SKILLZ® program. She is also a certified AWSDA Rape Prevention Instructor and teaches practical self-defense to students of all ages.
As a proud member of the SKILLZ® team, Sensei Sharyl trains under Melody Johnson, creator of the SKILLZ® program and a nationally recognized child development expert. This mentorship ensures that instruction at White Tiger Karate blends martial arts training with proven child development principles. All instructors—including the STORM Leadership Team—receive ongoing education through the SKILLZ® system, making the children’s program a comprehensive developmental experience that fosters physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
Deeply committed to her community, Sensei Sharyl has donated countless martial arts and women’s self-defense classes and raised thousands of dollars for families in need. Her contributions have earned her recognition as one of “Top Women You Should Know in NH” and the “Woman of Achievement” award from the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Under her leadership, White Tiger Karate was named Best of the Lakes Region Winner in 2025, reinforcing its reputation as one of the area’s premier martial arts schools.
